Investors get 7-day ultimatum to surrender title deeds

LIVESTOCK and Fisheries Minister Luhaga Mpina has issued a seven-day ultimatum to Triple S Beef Company and Agri Vision to surrender to the government their title deed for land on which the meat factory stands.

He said the investors have failed to develop the project for 11 years now since they were given the area. He also instructed the Treasury Registrar’s office to immediately start verifying various properties in the factory.

According to Mr Mpina, many machines have been stolen from the industry. He ordered the arrest of the company owner who was entrusted with the guard of the industry and all properties within the premises.

He said the industry will be under the Regional Commissioner’s office until further notice.
