Azam focus is on ASFC
AZAM FC have started strategies to the fourth round match of the Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) against Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) at their Chamazi Complex in Dar es Salaam this Saturday
Speaking to members of press yesterday, the team’s Communication Officer Jaffar Idd, said their focus now is to win the approaching ASFC game in order to reach into the next stage. “We know that the match will be difficult especially considering the fact that KMC will host us.
They have a good coach and a squad which will force us to play a cautious game to avoid an upset,” Idd said. Adding, he said all members of his squad are set for the match excluding skipper Himid Mao who is undergoing knee treatment in South Africa.
He picked the injury in their 0-0 draw against Lipuli FC in league match last week. The other encounter on the day will see Singida United welcoming Polisi Tanzania at Namfua Stadium, Singida. The action continues on Sunday as Majimaji take on Young Africans while Buseresere will host Mtibwa Sugar at Nyamagana ground.
JKT Tanzania will test Ndanda FC at Chamazi Complex in the city. Meanwhile, Mbao FC crashed out of the Federation Cup after losing to the hosts, Njombe 6-5 on penalty shootout. The teams finished the normal 90 minutes tied 1-1. Njombe Mji were the first to score in the 39th minute through Ditram Nchimbi.
The teams finished the first half with hosts leading 1-0. Barely ten minutes before final whistle, Mbao FC equalised through Said Said. Last year, Mbao reached the final stage before losing to Simba in a tense final match held at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma
